Bringing 10+ years of experience in the research industry, at Omdia Josh manages a global team of analysts producing market intelligence and analysis on the IoT and AI markets and guides the team's strategy, research agenda, and commercial planning. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Before Omdia, Josh served as VP of product management at Ingenu, formulating the company’s product roadmap and guiding cross-functional teams. From 2010-16, he led IHS Markit’s coverage of the IoT market and guided the launch of the first IHS IoT Intelligence service. Josh’s experience also includes serving government and military officials as a national security intelligence analyst.

Andy Brown, Practice Lead– IoT

Andy Brown is an industry expert with over 25 years of experience providing consulting and advisory services in IT market research, IoT, and mobility. He is the IoT Practice Lead at Omdia, where he leads a team that advises on all aspects of the IoT ecosystem.
He joined Omdia from Strategy Analytics, where he worked for over 14 years as Executive Director of Enterprise and IoT Research. Prior to that, he worked at IDC for a decade. Brown also worked for Lucas Automotive in Germany as a market analyst.
He gained a joint honors degree in Marketing and German from Lancaster University in the UK.
John Canali, Senior Analyst, Service Provider IoT Strategies
Key areas of expertise include: IoT strategies, IoT platforms, IoT product, key IoT verticals, connected cars and fleet.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Trinity College in Connecticut and a Master of Science with distinction in International Strategy and Economics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
Prior to joining the Omdia IoT team in 2019, John spent over 5 years working in product management and product development with AT&T's IoT organization. He provided commercial and market support in areas including connected cars, fleet solutions, smart cities, and smart homes.
Before joining AT&T, John was an analyst with Strategy Analytics, focusing on connected car markets, technologies, and opportunities.
Edward Wilford, Principal Analyst, IoT Hardware

Edward’s area of expertise is in the semiconductors behind devices in the IoT and embedded markets - specific products and technologies, and market trends, from supply chains to partnerships.
Before joining Omdia, Edward spent six years working in market intelligence and data insights for Arm, producing forecasts by application and vendor for the whole IoT and embedded markets.
He holds a BA (Hons) from Durham and an MPhil from Cambridge and is completing an MS in Business Analytics from Bath.
Alex Thompson, Senior Analyst, IoT, Omdia

Alex was previously working as a Senior Analyst in consumer entertainment in the Media and Entertainment team at Omdia focusing on covering esports and worked on a consulting project encompassing the entire global M&E landscape. Prior to joining Omdia in 2021, Alex worked as an IoT Forecast Analyst at GSMA Intelligence and as an R&D Engineer at Sony.
Alex previously attained a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MSc in Telecommunications with Business, both at University College London.
Gavin Eng, Senior Analyst IoT

Gavin holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance awarded by the University of Hertfordshire. He is based in Malaysia and focuses on the Asia & Oceania region.
Gavin was part of the IT consulting team and the IT audit team in KPMG Malaysia before leaving to join IDC, where he worked as an associate market analyst. He gained approximately two years of market research experience as a market analyst in IDC, focusing on the IT services market and public cloud services market in Asia before joining the Omdia team.
Shobhit Srivastava, Senior Principal Analyst, IoT
Shobhit joined Omdia's IoT team of experts after completing an MBA at the IE Business School in Madrid. Prior to that, he was at Counterpoint Research for almost 6 years, where he was an analyst covering mobile devices and ecosystem and then moved on to cover components, semiconductors and IoT including IoT modules and trends. Prior to Counterpoint, he was an associate consultant with Wipro Technologies and had several intern roles at both Tata Consultancy Services and Yahoo Inc.
Shobhit is based in Toronto, Canada and has global reach over key markets and industries.
